On Saturday, May 17, many volunteers at Holy Cross Lutheran Church got together to assist in emptying the Kennebunk Cares Closet, which was located in the basement of Luther Hall. The space was full of bins, bags and boxes full of clothes, shoes, and sneakers that were donated to Apparel Impact, and will ultimately help others!
Apparel Impact is a Family and Veteran Owned operated company started in 2014 as a New England textile recycler and community support company with a primary mission to reduce waste and improve the environment and to help others.
With approximately 30 volunteers, the basement was unloaded and stacked onto the 26’ truck in 26 minutes! Maybe the quick work could have been attributed to the warm coffee and the delicious Congdon‘s donuts that were provided prior to and after the project!
