Advent has started and Christmas is coming soon! Please note the following items:
Advent Hymn Sing – Before the service on the 2nd (December 7th) and 3rd (December 14th)
Sundays in Advent, there will be a hymn sing right before the service in place of the prelude.
Come early and join in the joyful singing!
Deacon’s Christmas caroling event – On Saturday, December 13th at noon, the Deacons
annual Christmas caroling ministry will begin! The Deacons, along with other members of the
congregation, are invited to go to a few houses to sing Christmas carols. We will gather at the
church by noon and then head out. There will be carpooling if you’d prefer not to drive. The
homes we will visit are usually people who don’t get out often. We visit them, present them with
a basket of homemade treats and then sing. It’s a wonderful afternoon and we welcome
all. We’d love to see some of the children come too (with adult supervision). If you have any
questions, please contact Michele Janiak or Mary Keating.
Decorating the church – on Saturday, December 20th, at 10 am, please come help decorate
the church for Christmas. The tree needs to be put up, lights put on and ornaments hung. The
two Nativity sets need to be arranged. And anything else someone cares to do! Many hands
make light and fun work!
Children’s Christmas Pageant – on Sunday, December 21st, there will be a Children’s
Christmas Pageant in place of the sermon. Please see Ellen Michalowski if you child is interested
in joining in this magical event.
Poinsettias for Christmas – Last year some people expressed an interest in purchasing
poinsettias for the church for Christmas so they can dedicate them to a loved one. If you would
like to contribute to the cost of the poinsettias, please fill out the form at the bottom of the page
and either drop in the offering plate with a check or mail to the church office. The church will
be paying for most of them but this will help defray the cost. If you have any questions, please
see Julie Clapp. Oh…the soft deadline is December 12th and the firm deadline is December 19th.
After the 19th, orders cannot be placed.
CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE
Our Christmas Eve service is at 5:00 pm (Wednesday the 24th). It will be service of Lessons and
Carols with some wonderful music both sung by the choir and by the congregation. Yes, we will
be singing Silent Night by candlelight! Please come join in the celebration! All are welcome!
